• Pick Mattock
• Four-wheel truck

Steps:
1. Dig around the stump and loosen the soil using the mattock
2. Remove the loose dirt with a shovel
3. Sever the exposed tree roots from the truck
4. Continue digging and chopping until the taproot is reached
5. Cut the taproot with an ax 6. Pull the tree stump from out of the topsoil

Using Chemicals

Manually removing tree stumps is an arduous activity. In fact, many people choose to opt for easier solutions and methods. One such method involves the use of chemicals such as potassium nitrate.

Steps:
1. Drill 8-12 inches deep holes around the stump and other holes on the sides that must create 45-degree angles
2. Pour potassium nitrate into the holes
3. Fill up the wholes with water
4. Let the stump soak in the solution for 4-6 weeks
5. Use the ax in cutting the stump that should have turned spongy

*Alternative: rot the tree stump by drilling holes into it then adding a high-nitrogen substance

Burning the Stump

This method is an excellent way to avoid spending too much or injuring yourself. Equip yourself with kerosene, and you’re more than ready for any tree stump removal.

Steps:
1. Drill an 8-10 inches deep hole in the center of the stump and other holes around it with 1 inch in between
2. Saturate the stump for a week with kerosene 3. Ignite the saturated stump
