The Arborcraft Tree Asset Management System is a method of tree management that has been developed with larger treescapes in mind. Owners and Managers of treescapes have a need for a clear understanding of the condition of their assets, and the associated level of manageable risk attached to them. TAMS catalogues the assets, and in doing so provides information regarding the health of each asset, the identification and mitigation of any risk associated with each asset, as well as other detailed arboricultural data for each asset.
Owners and managers of significant treescapes have an irrevocable Duty of Care towards all those who interact with their site. They must take all reasonable and practicable steps to ensure the treescape remains free from un-managed hazards, and that any existing hazards are monitored and managed to the lowest residual risk.
This TAMS report provides details of how to lower the residual risk of the assessed assets through qualified arboricultural advice and prescribed works, as well as providing a summary of the accepted tree protection measures outlined in AS4970-2009 Protection of Trees on Development Sites.
